I am publishing an Open Access article and there are several Creative Commons (CC) licenses to choose from. Does LANL require a specific CC license?
Answer
LANL does not require a specific CC license when publishing Open Access. The choice of license is yours. The most common choice is CC-BY, it is the least restrictive. But we also see authors sometimes choosing to add a level of restriction, for example the NC - no commercial use (a user cannot make money from use of your article) or the most restrictive ND - no derivatives allowed.
For some basic things to think about when choosing a license, you might take a look at the Creative Commons Considerations for Licensors and Licensees web page.
